[Pro] LIQUID LAYOUT

I’m looking to create a ‘liquid layout’ site, in which the background (image) will re-size to fit the browser window. Sounds simple, however the background image shrinks/enlarges to ALWAYS fit the browser window NO SCROLL BARS).

See example:

Is this possible in FW? I have read past posts and can make my web content re-size to fit the browser window, but not my background?

I have tried makeing it a layered DIV-no luck!
I have used a BG image, set V and H align to centre (this is the closest I have got) but my BG image top is cropped off!!

Like in the example I want my image to always fill the entire background (browser window) and constrain its proportions when re-sized. My graphic image is 1620 W x 1020 H,so when I used this I always automatically get both X/Y scroll bars appear. If you notice in the example these never appear, how do they do that?

Maybe simple, but I’m struggling to get my head around it ATM!

Just to be accurate, the background image on this site doesn’t resize at all; all that’s happening is that when you drag the window bigger, you’re revealing more of it.

If you’re getting scrollbars, then it sounds as though you’re not using a true ‘background’ image. Are you putting the image in a container that you draw on the page? It shouldn’t be like that, it needs to be specified in the Inspector, under the second tab from the left. You have two choices; make the background image bigger than anyone’s screen is likely to be, as they have on the example you give above, or make it small and tile it all over the screen.

I too would love to know how to do EXACTLY this… I see the image is justified from the bottom.

Hi Guys, thanks for the advice Paul & BigG!!!

I have thus solved my dilemma…

Create your BG image, in my case 1620x1020, apply the page action ‘Full Background - Proportional’, select your background image in the actions palette, set the page align to none, preview Done!!!

Thanks Guys

Good Afternoon,

reading this thread - I was wondering if I can get more details about this?

Is this possible in FW? I have read past posts and can make my web content re-size to fit the browser window, but not my background?

I am sorry

I must of cut that out in my moving of things.

How do you have the content resize with the resizing of the web browser window?

Thank you

J
