[Pro] Mal's e-commerce suite

Currently processing customer orders using Mal’s e-commerce site. Customers who order our products (kits) can add optional items to the kit. While the base kit does not vary in price and color the optional add-ons vary in price, color and quantity.

I have been trying to collect information on Mal’s E-Commerce Suite however I am not sure this action will accomplish what is needed.

Is there anyone on the forum that has faced similar circumstances. Thanks for your help!

Tim

Hi Tim,
It sounds like you want to create a Mals Buy Form Item that contains two products; the base product kit and an optional add on item. This second item would be defined using the Mals Multi-Price Select List Action with options for none (with a zero price) as well as the other optional products. The Mals Multi-Price Select List Action allows us to change the price of the selected item as the user changes the menu list.

Explaining the exact steps to put this together would take me forever here so I think the best bet is to ask you to send me an email detailing as close as you can what you want the form to contain as well as the optional products, colours and prices. Based on this I’ll send you a sample Freeway document that should demonstrate how you can put a form like this together.
Regards,
Tim.

Thanks Tim. That would be great. Is there a specific email address where I should send the details?

Hi Tim,

I to have a similar Mal’s E-commerce problem as Tim Hisey.

I recently purchased Mal’s E-commerce Suite and have been testing the suite to see if I can achieve the result I need to finish the website.

The eshop I am working on should have a dropdown menu with 3 different quantities (each quantity will change the price) and also whether the printed product is to be printed on one or two sides (this also will change the price). There are other options which the customer can choose but these do not alter the price.

Ideally, I would like to have a dropdown menu for the quantities and another menu for the number of sides the job is to be printed (one or two). The other options will be dropdown menus which will not affect the final price. I do want the options to be added to the cart in the form of a description so the customer can see what they have ordered.

I have tried having no quantities menu, just a single quantity (one per line) and let the number of sides dictate the price of the job. Unfortunately, I am unable to get the prices to show correctly in the cart and also the options sometimes don’t appear on the cart.

I have even tried having the number of sides as a two checkboxes, each one representing a side (Product 1 and Product 2) and the corresponding price for each. When sent to the cart, both items would appear in the cart when only one product was checked. It is close, but unfortunately not good enough.

Upon reading your reply to Tim Hisey’s problem, you mentioned a way of achieving the result for Tim, and it sounds like it might solve my problem as well. One can only hope. It would be good to read about the final result and how it was achieved!

If you can help solve my eshop problem, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg
