I so wish there was a Freeway class I could attend. The amount of knowledge I don’t have far outweighs what I do.

We have a service marine business and are dealers for several different outboards and diesel brands and I would like to be able to set up our website so that we can sell parts online. I’d like the customers to be able to look up their engine model and look at the exploded view and order the part they need online. We use electronic parts catalogs from each brand on our computers - I want the end customer to see the same parts catalog. I have no idea where to begin. Do I need a separate site to manage the content? Can I somehow use the electronic parts catalog software we get from Yamaha, Mercury & Yanmar?

I’m sorry if these are dumb questions. I’ve tried looking online to learn more about how this type of website should work but I’m obviously not using the right search words or something.

Maybe - depends on the format. More info required.

At the end of the day this will very much depend on several factors including

How many items?

Do you need to track stock inventory?

These are factors that help you determine what sort of Shopping cart you need to look at.

It very much sounds like you will need a PHP driven cart as I expect that you may well be dealing with hundreds - if not thousands - of parts. This may not be doable within FW.
