[Pro] Menu buttons: sprite image replacement technique

I happen to see this tutorial on Smashing Magazine and it intrigued me -

Can an image of both buttons in one image file be used like this in Freeway Pro? I think it would conflict in the CSS menu action, but as a submit button or otherwise in the site - it seems nice to have the image/rollover in one file.

How would this be done?

I like using sprites. I’m not sure if it will play nicely with the CSS menu action but Walt has put together a tutorial for doing it. Here’s the link

Thank you! That is really a neat trick. I would think the graphic wouldn’t necessarily have to be the full color block - no? Maybe tabs-like with rounded corners?
