[Pro] My looong page

Hi,

I just made this page (a test) as a change from having slide shows.

I realise it is long, and over 2.5MB in size, and not considered to be common practice. I want to know where it sits on the scale between ‘totally unacceptable’ and ‘totally wonderful’, bearing in mind the idea is presentation of my images, with the goal of more business.

The idea came from this blog http://www.judytran.com. (I am in awe of their photography and presentation).

Also a question about the page length and background. Once the page exceeds 16300 px in length, the black background stops growing. I don’t want to have my page much longer than it is, but just few more px would help.

All advice and suggestions appreciated.

The max page size in Freeway Pro is 32,767px tall – that’s 6-1/2 times my
height! Use the Page Inspector to set the page height (and everything else).

Stylistically, your images have varying border widths… This is likely from
scaling the images in FWP. I would suggest that you add the borders in FWP
instead.

As for the heavy load, I think you can still shave a bit of size from them.
Experiment with FWP’s quality setting.

Best,

Ernie Simpson

I think I might be more inclined towards displaying smaller images with a larger image onclick - preferably using one of the Lightbox actions that doesn’t load the larger image until requested.

A lot of those images are quite similar so you dont really need to display them all particularly large unless the visitor wants to see the bigger version.
