[Pro] Need Text Editor-Alphabetize Lists

Have an obligation to build a pdf file for download of come list items that I have in Freeway…however, the list items are not in alphabetical order and the client wants the pdf to be in alphabetical order.

I tried DevonTechnologies WordService to add to the services menu. However, it will not show up. I have OS 10.6.7 on my desktop and wonder if the software is incompatible for some reason.

I am trying to save time on re-typing and alphabetizing manually. There are around 250 items in this list.

Are there any options out there for alphabetizing text ?

Thanks,

Rich

See if TextWrangler has this feature, it’s big brother BBEdit does. TW
is free at http://barebones.com

Hi Rich,

This assumes there is a return between each list item…

Copy the list and paste it into an Open Office text document (or use MS Office).
Select the list.
Under Tools, choose Sort. You will be presented with a host of sorting options.

Open Office is a free, Open Source version of Microsoft Office. I’ve been using it for years. Download it at openoffice.org.
