[Pro] New carousel action not updating right?

I downloaded from actionsforge the new carousel action shown as 1.2.5 dated April 28. I dropped it into my freeway application icon in the dock. I got a message that an older version would be replaced, which seemed right to me. But now when I open a web site I’m in the process of creating and hit “preview,” I continue to get the following message:

RESOURCE CANNOT BE FOUND. The following resources cannot be found.
The file Macintosh HD:Users:laurabelgrave:Library:Application Support:Freeway 5:Actions:General:Protaculous.fwactionb:Contents:Resources:Actions:prototype1602packer.js for this resource cannot be found - it will not be published.

I’m puzzled and don’t know how to resolve this. If I go ahead and hit “OK” anyway, it previews, but there are some weirdnesses in sizing of the panes that previously weren’t there. And I still get the message every time I hit “preview.”

Can someone help me interpret what this means and what I should be doing?

Thanks,

Laura

Hi Laura

If you read this thread starting with entries from about 20th April on you should be enlightened.

I did read that thread, David. It didn’t enlighten me. It confused me and I thought the issues had all been resolved by now. Is there somewhere with a step-by-step upgrade guide? I’m simply lost in the discussons by various users who may or may not be experiencing my issue.

Discouraging. Something this advanced calls for more than a thread with more than 130 inputs from different people.

Please try the following steps (listed in that thread):

Locate ALL instances of any of the Carousel Actions in your page, and remove them from the elements they are currently attached to. Clicking the Site pane over to Page view is helpful for finding these (even hidden) because they will be “badged” with the little Action gear (all Action-ized items get this, not just Carousel).

Publish once.

Go back through your document, building the Carousels up from scratch by re-applying the Actions to their elements.

Publish again.

Everything should work from now on.

Thank you, Walter, for putting this together for me. I really had become quite lost in that lengthy thread. I have my page working again.

But one more question: Since I downloaded the entire action, why doesn’t “carousel text tab” appear in my actions list? Or is that something that will only show up if I decide to use it in conjunction with a CSS menu?

Inline Actions, like that one, do not appear in the Actions list unless you have double-clicked into a text container like an HTML box. Then you will see it in the Insert / Actions menu.

Yes I agree - but that is why I suggested you start reading from entries made from 20th April on.

Anyway I am glad you have it resolved.
