[Pro] Newbie Question

Most if not all the Freeway templates have a menu in the upper left quadrant “HOME” “NEWS” “ABOUT” GALLERY" “CONTACT”. While I can change these links, I can not seem to find a way to edit the words themselves. THey appear to be graphics (raster) and not HTML.

HELP?

Charcoal uses the CSS Menu action.

Make sure that you make your changes on the Master page.

Double click inside the nav menu item on the Master page

inspector

You can change the view of the Page/Site inspector at the LHS of your screen to show each item on a page by clicking the Header of the column.

Selecting an item in the Page Inspector and then using the Enter key will ‘open’ that item on your page for editing.

After you have changed the Menu on the Master page then look at each of the Menus on each child page.
inspector

If you select the menu item on the child page and look in the inspector you will see Check Boxes. Tick these to use the same Content as on the Master and tick to use the same positioning (Settings)

BTW you will need to look at the web based forum to see the pics.

I want to change “NEWS” to “ITEMS”.

For the life of me I have done everything you have indicated and I can not change anything.

Thanks for your help, but cheese and crackers that’s elaborate.

I simply went to the master page, double clicked on the CSS menu, changed “NEWS” to “ITEMS”. I then did a Command “P” for publish site. Only then does the program reflect my change.

This seems to be an instance that requires a “Publish” command to reflect a change on the screen…

Glad you have it sorted now.

It will be easier the next time.

I think your illustrations are for creating menus from scratch. I do appreciate your help and attention to this matter.
