[Pro] No Looping

I’ve created an animation in EWA and published it as an SWF file. I then drop it into my Freeway Pro 5.5 page and set it to loop in the Inspector. The file plays flawlessly in Safari, Firefox, etc., but does NOT loop. It plays once and stops.

What is the solution to this dilemma? Is this a bug? Am I missing something in Freeway or EWA? Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone with any ideas? Would be greatly appreciated!

Try this - select the container/flash file and go to Item>Extended and under the EMBED tag create a new name/value pair of loop and true

So you would have name: loop value: true

And post a link to the page where it doesn’t work just now.

That’s for the respond David. I tried your idea, and unfortunately, nothing is changing. I’m testing out the company’s Easy Web Animator, so I would think it would work flawlessly in Freeway Pro, but it doesn’t. I’ve spent hours chasing down this issue.

I’m dragging the SWF file directly from the desktop onto the page itself. Am I supposed to put it into a graphic box or something first?

Just tried dropping the item into a graphic box. Doesn’t change anything.

Post a link to your page online so that we can see the underlying code.

No you shouldn’t need to import into a graphic box.

This is simply a test graphic. I’m going to animate the word “music” in the upper right if I can get this going, so please pay no attention to the graphic itself. Thanks for checking this out.

It looks like you added that bit of extended code not to the Flash file but to the body instead. Take it off whatever you added it to.

Go back to the file in EWA - check the Action Settings in the Property window.

If there is a setting of ‘When reached the end of page Stop’ then delete it and republish.

Thanks again for checking all this for me. Very kind of you.

First, the only thing I added to the flash file itself is the extended loop value thing you mentioned earlier. Should I delete that?

Second, in the EWA property window, the settings that are checked are:

  1. Compression
  2. Output HTML File
  3. Transparent Background
  4. Loop
  5. Flash Player 9 (the latest option available)

I’ve tried unchecking the loop option and bouncing, but this makes no difference. I’ll uncheck all the options and see if this makes any difference.

Got it to work David, when I finally found the Action Settings you were speaking of in EWA. Had to add the replay feature to the very last “scene” in the file.

Many thanks for the heads up. Much appreciation for your time and thoughtfulness.
