[Pro] Object Alignment

I’m evaluating Intaglio as a simple design tool, for a bathroom vanity in this case.

I’ve created a set of rectangles to represent the cabinet doors and drawers and made copies for the number needed. I’m now trying to align the various objects but don’t seem to have any control over which object gets moved into alignment. Usually (e.g. Claris Draw) either the first or last object selected is the anchor and the others are moved into alignment. Intaglio seems to choose randomly or move all objects to some new location. I want to move my bottom drawer to align with a cabinet door bottom, which is already aligned with everything else. However, no matter what selection sequence I use, the door moves to align with the out of place drawer.

Any suggestions?

Make sure to enable “smart guides” under “Layout” - this will help to align objects one to another.

Thanks, I was using the guides as I worked some of the time but have been used to using the alignment tools as well. Is there no way to anchor alignments?

Yes - right click on object and call “lock”.

Ah, thanks. I knew there had to be a way. Cheers!
