[Pro] Online file directory

To whom it may concern,

Please forgive my limited knowledge.

I would like to make one of my sites be an online file directory that I can easily add files to at leisure. Is this something that is possible with Freeway or should I head a different route?

I would prefer to set things up in Freeway so I can customize the general aesthetic.

If you don’t mind adding the files to this directory using an (S)FTP application like Fetch or Transmit, then you can do this quite easily with Freeway and the Ajax File Listing Action. Customizing the style of the listing will take a little bit of custom work in the Edit Styles dialog, some of it requiring a dip into the Extended interface, but it’s all very do-able.

Note that this will create a listing of files and folders, based on a recursive script that the Action will create for you. If you want to organize the files, you will do so by manipulating them on disk with your (S)FTP app. If you are looking for a more full-featured system, where you could upload files through the browser, organize them and add metadata to them, etc., then you will need to look elsewhere. HotScripts would be a good place to start, although anything you find there will most likely require more traditional HTML+CSS skills to decorate to your liking.

Transmit is my FTP Application of choice and the solution you gave is exactly what I needed.
