Has any body had any experience in designing one of these and if so
what pit falls did you find.
I could use ‘Forms To Go’ but is there anything better?
Are you just looking to receive an email from the form or does the
submission need to be collected in a database and/or tied into some
larger back-end functionality?
At this stage I think the restaurant would just be happy with an
email.
Why, is there anything else?
If all you need is an email then any form processor would be
sufficient such as FTG, Tim’s PHP Feedback form etc. If you want to
collect the submissions in a db then FTG and many other scripts
(HotScripts etc. ) can pass the data to a database of some sort. It
really depends on how far you want to take it. I’ve used Walter’s MAR
framework to do collect emails, example at <http://www.xiiro.com/dev/MAR/index.php
. Furthermore, if you need to tie all this stuff into some other
computerized reservation system then, well, that’s a whole other animal.
Well it will be a breeze then - I have some quite complex forms created with the PHPFF action hosted there.
If you need any help with construction just ask but a basic table layout such as at http://www.deltadesign.co/formtest.html - is the easiest way to go. The action is applied to the containing table.
