Hey all
I have a website that has a bunch of PDF programs and would rather present them in a nicer manner such as a page turning flip book… Is this possible?
and is it possible without Flash
any advise is always appreciated
Most of page turning flipbook is basic on flash. If you do not want flash, is it ok to have PDF flipbook in EXE format? Try this flip book software from Kvisoft. It is offering big holiday discount now.
EXE won’t work on Mac or iOS or Android, which together wipes out about half the internet. If you’re okay with making your site PC + desktop-only, then that’s a fine way to go. I just worked on a project where they (the client) fell in love with this “flipping book” metaphor, and used it for their owner’s manual. The software that they used (no idea what it’s called, wouldn’t recommend it) created this massive 80MB package of HTML pages, JavaScript, and image files to duplicate the “flipping” experience on iOS and other non-flash, non-exe browsers. It is hopelessly difficult to use, you can’t just search it, you have to use the built-in search tool, which knows on which image the words you’re looking for can be found. Massive over-engineering in the service of skeuomorphism.
