[Pro] Pages CSS Menu error? or?

On mangumandsons.com all page titles BUT ONE all line up correctly HORIZONTALLY at top and bottom of each page like this HOME CHALLENGES SOLUTIONS ACTIONS ABOUT US OTHER CONTACT
however, on TOP of contact page they line up this way instead across the page (yet at the bottom of the page they are correct.)
CHALLENGES
SOLUTIONS
ACTIONS
ABOUT US
OTHER
CONTACT

What hav I missed? They show up horizontally in PRO but when on the web they show as above, vertically. Solution???

Your Contact page is built with tables instead of flexible divs, like the
others. This is what is different.

so how do I change it?
I do not understand ‘tables’ distinction… where, how?
Or perhaps question is how to change it?
CSS menu works okay on the bottom of the page, not on the top.
please explain

Your Contact page is built with tables instead of flexible divs,

When you use unlayered items (CSS Button off) FW creates a Table structure for your page (unlayered items have a Blue border)

Go through the items on that page and select each in turn and make sure the layer Checkbox is ticked.

in every item on that page I checked layer
no changes

repeated it
no change

on one css menu on checking layer it deselected use Master settings but it made no change

the css menu ACTIONS pallet indicates same settings as other pages

Tried altering other settings and no change whether layer on or off, absolute or fixed.

I published and republished the CSS menu and no difference. That menu shows as CSS not table

So what what?

So what what?

FUBAR. Google it.

I went back to your client page - http://mangumandsons.com/contact.html -
and the conclusion that I’ve come to is that you have applied the Create
Email action to the page. The evidence is the table structure, the outlook
styles in the head and the inline styles. Start by disabling the action and
republishing.

You are moving away from the solution, not closer.

Will need help with that.
outlook and inline styles as that is meaningless to me,
as is table structure
what ‘action’ is to be disabled?

By the way, it was working fine like all the others until I centered all pages and republished.
On occassion FWP aborts the upload saying it can’t find a blank.gif and I just tell it to upload again, and it always does.

Is your CSS Menu on your Master?

If so when you create a new page based on the Master is the Menu OK.

If it is then on the Contact page Cut all items that are not on the Master to the clipboard and Reapply the Master before pasting them back on.

I SAID THE CREATE EMAIL ACTION, THE NAME OF THE PAGE ACTION IS CREATE EMAIL

CREATE EMAIL.

And that is my final word on this subject.

The problem unlikely to be faulty page creation for the following reason: Look at the site NOW

I JUST NOW uploaded the SAME website from a different mac (MacMini w Snow Leopard) and the css menu appears properly horizontal on the OTHER (contact) page both top and bottom. On both computers the same program exists, but one from iMacis has gotten corrupted somehow.

2 weeks ago I copied & transferred the site to the iMac. When I worked on it IN that iMac the OTHER page CSS page menu worked fine until the day I posted this query.

The contact page CSS meu worked fine from that iMac until it suddenly changed as a result of my changing the content on two other pages. How could that occur??

Apart from not seeing a Contact Tab in your Menu.

But did you actually try what I suggested - make a new page from the Master?

Or Reapply the Master to the Contact page?

Duh!!! wow I must have been more tired than I realized to not see the contact page was NOT in the post from the mini.
Apologies
I reapplied the Master to the contact page several times but it does not seem to make any difference.

On making a new page, I started one but then decided to go ahead and take advantage of the vertical CSS pages which is how I modified it for now. Jan 19 will be my 89th birthday so maybe I’ll consider redoing it at another time.

Thanks to all for the help

do not have email contact inserted will need to figure that out later.

Put in some text ie Email us - select the text then Cmd K to bring up the Edit Hyperlink dialogue box.

Choose the External Tab

Select mailto: from the dropdown selector and then type in the email address after mailto: ie

mailto:myemail(a)me.com

OK that and you are done
