My PHP feedback form is working fine and has been for a while, I now require customers to upload a photo on the same form.
I have installed the ‘make file upload field’ action, and I can pick the file and submit and then I get my success message but no attachment appears in the e-mail with the rest of the form details.
I assume I am missing something obvious, but for the life of me…I cannot find it.
Hi Sean,
Sadly this isn’t going to work. I intentionally left file uploads out
of the PHP Feedback Form action specifically for security reasons. At
the time I first wrote the action I had a certain amount of time to
invest in the complexities of form to mail scripts like this as well
as protecting the forms from the likes of spammers. File uploads are,
by their very nature, fraught with security issues. If the action left
a door open and a hacker managed to bring your server (or your
client’s server) down then I’d more than likely lose 90% of my users
overnight. I don’t want that to happen.
I’ve plans to add file uploads to a specific third party site from
within the action so that if the security is compromised the web site
is left untouched. That is for the future. For now I would suggest
looking at Form to Go which, amongst other things, offers a file
upload facility. http://www.bebosoft.com/products/formstogo/overview
Regards,
Tim.

Have this changed since you post this thread? I have a couple of clients that also want to send me photos or artwork file through my site and I was considering built a PHP form with this capability. If this still not possible with PHP form action I could use this Form To Go you suggest.
Have anybody here at this forum used this service of Form To go? Another option that comes to my mind now would be simply putting a link to yousendit.com or some similar site…
