[Pro] PHP Form problem

Hi

I’m having problems with a form being sent using the Send Form action. When uploaded to my clients server and tested i keep getting the error page and the form is not being sent, however if I upload the same to my server it works fine.

I’m told that her server is PHP enabled. I’m also being told that I need to send mail using PHP Pear and this is the link they sent me: Sending Mail Using PHP Pear

I’ve not had this problem before and I’m not sure what I need to do to fix it. Is this a similar issue to GoDaddy incompatibilities?

The test form page link is below.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Dave

Similar, however there is no easy workaround unlike the GoDaddy options in the action.

I suspect that this hosting package is Windows based rather than the Proprietary Unix/Linux/Apache server hosting that good hosting companies offer.

As was said in another recent post - Web Hosting is cheap and it is not difficult to move to an industry standard offering (paraphrased)

Hi David

Thanks for your reply. Very frustrating but in the end issue seems to have been using an email address for recipient of the form that wasn’t related to the domain/hosting of the site. So I’ve had to set up a new email account just for the form to send to, use PHP feedback form instead of Send Form and then within that also define the SMTP and Port in the ini_set options and problem solved, form sending OK.

Annoying for my client though as she really didn’t want to have another email account to check! I’ve told her that in the long term we need to move her domain to a different host as you suggest.

Thanks for your help.

Simply set up a redirect on the new email account to her existing account. Should be able to do that in her cPanel (or equivalent)
