[Pro] php forms

I have been trying to get a php form mail or form feedback up on a godaddy site for several days now. I have tried a few types without much luck, the couple times I did get something up it was behind a banner and the other time it was nothing but text. I’m new to this so I’m hoping someone can give me some pointers or suggestions. It’s a eight page site but this has got me stumped. HELP Please.

Larry

I dont use PHP forms. I just use the send action and it works fine for me with godaddy. I had problems with PHP form before as i did that. My suggestion is to try that and see what happens.

I will, it¹s funny the first line of code was always in the file and another
time the code was laying on top of the page. I have a lot to learn?
Thanks,
Larry

With either the Send Form action (built in) or the PHPFeedback Form action http://www.freewayactions.com/product.php?id=019 there is no code that YOU need to add, anywhere. Both these actions do it all for you.

The PHP Form action is not one for this job.

David,

I should have stated up front that I was dealing with godaddy? I should have
used better information, using the word text instead of code. In one upload
it did place the form on the page but behind a banner and after reviewing
could never get it backup on the page. In the time spent with godaddy I
never got the same information about problems.

I should also say this is my first time building web pages so I have much to
learn. I have four more domains I want to build. I only started using FW7 in
mid December. I should have joined this list sooner because this is where
the knowledge resides. In the end I got the form on to the page with send
form action and using tables to build the form but not checking the godaddy
box.

I’m a semiretired photojournalist having used photoshop and final cut
primarily in my work but this is a new ballgame for me. But one I hope to
learn but maybe not master? I’m in a learning curve with the language like
javascript, tcl, html, php, css and everything else that goes along with
getting it published.

I appreciate your information and your time making contact with me to
improving my understanding and knowledge.

Thanks,

Larry

After looking at plums & honey I will point you at http://www.deltadesign.co/formtest.html

Note how I talk about zeroing the border/cell spacing settings - your form table would benefit from that.

I didn’t try your form but assume that you are now operational?

And when you come to do a form for subsequent sites all you need to do is copy/paste that same form (and its surrounding table) from one FW document to another. And if you have applied theSendForm action to the table (and not the page) then all the action settings will come with it and only need minor tweaks to suit the new domain.

Yes, I see it looks a lot cleaner than mine, I like the look. I will keep
this in mind for the next form I build. Yes the form is working.

I’m sure I will be coming back to FWT as the next sites will be a little
more complex using photos and final cut movies. I will also rework the home
page for plums & honey at some point to give it a cleaner look and more
welcoming look. Again thanks for your help.
