[Pro] PHP problems all over the place -help!

What about the path to the script page (gdform.php)

Where actually is it on your site - have you seen it?

No. Hence the newbie aspect of it. I just Inserted the action. Is there a fix that involves me finding and adjusting that? If so, can you explain it?

Freeway is an amazing program, but most of my web design friends haven’t even heard of it so it is difficult to get in-depth help without turning to the forums. So thank you for taking the time to help me. You are spreading the knowledge of Freeway which will help the product become more widely used and then better…hopefully, right?

Hi Josh,
As the author of the action I’m here to help you either get this
working or find a solution that works for you. My understanding of
GoDaddy Linux accounts is that they all have gdform.php and
webformmailer.php installed and available to them. Both files should
be stored at the root (top) level of your site.
Here’s the GoDaddy tech article explaining how to find and use each
script;

Can you FTP into your account at GoDaddy and see if you can locate
either of these files? Another thing to check is if you actually have
a Linux or Windows account. GoDaddy’s Windows servers use another form
processing script.

Essentially what the action does is to provide a PHP script that most
Linux based PHP accounts will work with out of the box. The GoDaddy
option in the action switches this off and simply sets the form to use
the installed gdform.php file.

The next version of the action will almost certainly have a test mode
where you can see if the code will run on your server before you need
to commit to using it.
Regards,
Tim.

Tim,

Thanks for your reply. The third person I talked to at GoDaddy knew how to fix my problem. It is only set up to use with their specific mail form, though, which means I can only use one email address for any accounts I host.

I’m currently checking to see if I can get the other way to work when using GoDaddy. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I know.

Thanks,

Josh

You could just move your site!

I use GD for all my domain registrations etc but because of their peculiarities I don’t host with them.

Tim,

Since my last post, I have located the gdform.php and webformmailer.php in my directory. Here is the deal. I am hosting several sites on my account. The action works if I check for it to use godaddy’s mail script. However, that means any site I host can only go to the one email address set through godaddy. I would certainly prefer to use your action the way you intended so different forms on different sites could go to different addresses. Any ideas?

I haven’t yet played with the “define smptp (godaddy) option.” Could that be an avenue to pursue.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,
I can’t seem to find any documentation on GoDaddy’s site about how you
would set up email recipients for multiple domains under the same
account like this.
I would imagine that you’d need to pass the recipient address (or a
token) into the gdform.php file.
I found this;

but it makes no mention of multiple sites.
Regards,
Tim.
