[Pro] picture shadow problem

I am trying to design pages with large photo across on the top and a red wide block behind as heading. In order to have good visual result in wide screen computer, I tried to have the red block wider than the page. However, when I set the red block wider, the colour of photo shadow changed from grey colour shadow into RED. I have checked all the photo shadow setting and confirmed it comes from the red block. Is there anyone having solution to fix this?

Dear All,

I guess I was suffering in this problem with big headach and did not manage to explain well. I have been trying the whole day to figure out this.

When I create a box (either html or graphic box) as a red colour background box and put a graphic box photo image on the top, if I give the photo a shadow as grey, the grey colour changed. It looks fine on the page, but on preview, the grey shadow has a red shadow overlapping. I have tried both html and graphic box but they both give a red colour to the grey shadow. I am trying to creat images like red cross style - horozental red bar, verytical part photo image with shadow.

Does anyone have this problem before and can someone help me?

What you are seeing is the effect of anti-aliasing.

When one graphic is on top of another FW anti-alias’ the edges for you.

Because your graphic is not wholly ‘within’ the coloured background area the anti-alias setting is wrong.

I am not quite sure how to fix it in your situation though.

Dear David

Thank you for your reply. And I found out the solution now! Yippee!

It is because the image on the top is jpg file and it has transparency effect. So I need to change the setting of the photo from jpg to PNG and colour setting into Millions on the Inspection Pallet. Then all those terrible shadows are gone!

Hope this is helpful to anyone who have this problem in the future.

Catherine
