Before I go further - I’m just wondering if I’m missing something that would make it easier. Currently I’m duplicating a popup window page and then renaming/saving and dropping in the new information for each individual track. This means of course - if I have 100 tracks, I will have to make 100 pages.
I see these other Spawn New Window options - This Is Master, and - Slave Chain - but can’t quite grasp what these do or if it could help ease this task somehow. The manual talks about Chains linking text boxes to one another…and nothing about Slave at all I found in a search. The SNW documentation assumes some level of expertise - where I have none! LOL
Regardless, it’s not hard now all I have to do is drop in the items now that it’s set up and working.
Thanks again Walter and David for the help getting to this point. It’s looking good and doing what it’s intended to do.
If you have 100 or more files, then the thing to do is use a cms to manage that, and then you can use one line of code rather than 100 new pages in your Freeway document.
Have a look on HotScripts and see if you can find something designed for music hosting. My guess is the answer will be yes.
You could also build something custom yourself with php and mysql and my Generate script, but that does take some familiarity with coding.
… and I wonder (no I do not really) that your files won’t work for me (in Safari). I have had the same experiences using this QuickTime Action with my screencast.
Thanks Walt, this is a site that won’t grow so doing it by hand was probably the simplest way for my immediate needs, and what I’ve done now.
Thomas - I don’t know what to say - I’ve run it on 3 different Macs, Safari, Firefox and Opera - and on PC and it’s fine. QuickTime 10.0 is the version I’m running.
