[Pro] Privately Publishing Site

I am a Freeway amateur, working with Freeway Pro, redoing our medical practice website to get it into shape to have a professional refine it. I want to send the site to each of my partners so they can review it and make suggestions. They do not have Freeway and one uses Windows. I see my site folder in my desktop folder that has everything for the site. Is this what I send to others who just want to look at the site before it’s published? Will that work or am I missing something? Thanks!

Yes - Zip that Site Folder up and send it over. Check the size first - if it is too big you may want to use a service to send it.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I also tried emailing it to myself and then opening it on my iPad but when I download it on the iPad it will only open in PDF reader. I was hoping to see how it behaved on the iPad. Do I have to wait until the site is uploaded and on line to do that?

There isn’t an easy way to access files/folders on your iPad

Far better/easier to have a test site set up on a server - doesn’t have to be the actual site or server as it can be added to any site you have access to.

You could post the HTML files to a Dropbox and give client access to that.

…Or you could host it on your Mac (if you’re running SL+).
It’s not perfect, but it’s fairly easy and it gets the job done.

Thanks for the helpful responses. I took DeltaDave’s advice and uploaded the Freeway site to a server, while keeping our current website unchanged. I have a MobileMe account and uploaded through it and gave the URL to my medical practice partners so they can review the site as I put it together. I’m learning a lot here and have gotten great tools from ActionsForge, after reading about them here.
