[Pro] Pulse CMS integration

Hi guys,

I’ll like to use a CMS in a website and I have been reading some threads suggesting Pulse CMS. All I need is to update images and information in pages.

1.Does anyone know how to integrate Pulse into Freeway?
2.How hard it is to integrate?
3.Do I need to buy a set of actions in order to use it with Freeway?
4.Are there any tutorials on how to integrate?

Any suggestions/directions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1.Does anyone know how to integrate Pulse into Freeway?

Yes

2.How hard it is to integrate?

Not very - a bit of pasting of code and changing your pages to .php

3.Do I need to buy a set of actions in order to use it with Freeway?

No actions available - not really necessary.

4.Are there any tutorials on how to integrate?

Hmmm!! Not that I am aware of but if your read the Pulse documentation and insert/paste the Pulse code using Insert>HTML Markup items you should be fine.

Any questions just ask.

This is a very quick page that uses some Pulse elements http://www.deltadzine.net/login.php - ignore the Login form it is unrelated.

Hi David,

Thank you so much for your help and advice. I do have some questions for you though.

1.So, once a create and change to php all my pages in Freeway, then I insert the Pulse code- HTML markup- Do you mean on each page?

2.Do I create the editable items in Freeway or in Pulse and then Insert>HTML markup.

3.Do you know how to create a blog using Pulse?

4.If adding the blog can I keep the same feel and design as the website?

Again, as always your help and knowledge is so much appreciated.

have a great day,

Carlos

1.So, once a create and change to php all my pages in Freeway, then I insert the Pulse code- HTML markup- Do you mean on each page?

Each page that you want to have a Pulse editable section(s)

2.Do I create the editable items in Freeway or in Pulse and then Insert>HTML markup.

Create your layout in FW with spaces for where your Pulse content will appear. Then once you create the content holder in Pulse you can then add the Pulse code to your FW page. Remember that if your content is going to have an undefined length (ie it might be larger than the area in your FW layout) - then you may have to use an inline construction method.

3.Do you know how to create a blog using Pulse?

Sorry - haven’t done that but I am sure that the principal is the same for any Pulse generated content.

4.If adding the blog can I keep the same feel and design as the website?

I am sure that you can as you are adding content to a FW created page.

Hello,

I’m after a bit of help, I’ve been asked by a client to enable parts of their website so they can edit areas themselves. Its proving to be more difficult than I expected.

I’ve found Pulse (others that Softpress suggest don’t all appear to still be available) and uploaded it to the sites root folder etc but at this point I’m stuck on changing a page I want to have an editable area on to .php. How is this done?

Hopefully I’m not biting off more than a non coder (I am learning sloooowly) can chew.
