[Pro] Redesign of someone else's site

Hi chaps, I have a pal (yes just the one) who has designed a site for himself and it’s a bit dull - he’d like me to zing it up a bit. He has built it with, I don’t know, but he’s learnt a bit of html and suggested I rough out a new design and he’ll code it. I’d prefer to knock out an home page in Freeway - if I do can he ‘take’ the code and use it in some way or will he have to enter the code manually - please excuse me if I’m being dumb - I don’t really know what I’m talking about … best Roger

Not 100% sure on this Roger, but I believe that if you “View Source”
in Safari that gives all the code needed to copy and paste into his
preferred html editor.

All the coding that Freeway produces is published to the Site File, which you will have chosen at the outset of design. Send your pal that folder. The content of this can normally be opened in any application that has a proper code editor. However, be aware that FW cannot read this code back in or read files altered by another application - but this doesn’t look like a problem in your case.

Another good tip thanks Colin … you’re right I wouldn’t need it back … best Roger

But if it comes back to you, the Site Folder, with any edits or changes you won’t be able to use those files anymore and will have to update the original FW file manually to match those files.

Just a reminder.
