[Pro] Reloading from the server

Hello
I messed up and lost some files on my computer, mainly the last two weeks of my work for the Website. However thework is not lost as it is on the server and visible online.
Is there a way to take it back from the server and put it back in Freeway somehow?
Thanks for your time.

unfortunately not. It’s a bit like the lost InDesign file but still having the PDF. Freeway is a code generator - but not a code swallower. TimeMachine (or similar) should be your best friend.

Cheers

Thomas is right, but you can download and open the html files and recourses
in an editor (Dreamweaver for example) and edit them and upload. But thats
not what you really want I’m afraid…

There is also no recent backup FWfile you can use, even an older one?

Thanks for the replies.
Well, I am happy I can at least use the PDF’s and so forth. No, I usually make a good back up, but of course, just this one time, I figured I would do it ‘tomorrow.’
Ha. it’s always those tomorrows. In any case it could have been a lot worse and I learned a good lesson (again)

Look in the same folder as the .freeway file for a separate file called YourSite.fwbackup. It has a dimmed-out icon. You can open it by dragging it over the Freeway icon in your Dock, or by holding down the Option key in Freeway and choosing Open Backup… from the File menu. NB: This file is only updated when you open the Freeway document it is based on successfully. It is not a running backup of every change you make. Here’s a timeline of its creation and modification, AFAICT:

 .freeway: * new file + save x close + open * edit + save x close + open
.fwbackup: * created * updated

So don’t count on this saving your bacon unless you routinely close the document and re-open it, in other words. But it will get you miles closer than what’s on your server. Unfortunately, if that’s all you have, you’ll have to follow the steps in this KB article I wrote a million years ago: http://www.softpress.com/kb/questions/40/Fast+Way+to+Recreate+a+Website
