I have commented before that I use Freeway just about every day! There are several ‘actions’ that I use frequently which would be much quicker with a keystroke equivalent. Three that come to mind are (a) Insert Text Rollover (b) Scale Up (c) Scale Down – the last two for scaling graphics. A future addition? Cheers, Paul
You can scale graphics using command-shift-option-. (period) and command-shift-option-, (comma) to scale the graphic up and down respectively by 5% increments.
Inserting an Action using a keyboard shortcut is trickier but still doable with the help of the Keyboard preferences.
Go to Apple menu > System Preferences
Click on Keyboard
Select the Keyboard shortcuts tab
Click the plus icon to add a new shortcut
A sheet will appear asking you to choose the application (Freeway), the exact menu title (Text Rollover) and the keyboard shortcut (I chose command-option-shift-x). Make sure that the shortcut isn’t used elsewhere in the application as you could cause it to clash and stop the other shortcut from working.
Click the Add button
Switch back to Freeway, insert your cursor in text box so that the i-beam is flashing and press your shortcut key combination (defined in step 5)
You should see that the Text Rollover Action has been added into the box.
Regards,
Tim.

Thank you Tim for both those suggestions – they work like a charm, and will save me a lot of time. I have not used keyboard shortcuts before, but will make wider use of them now. (Here I used F5 – right close to TR for Text Rollover!)

Now let’s hope Softpress integrates widely used functionality by default.
Command+ for zoom in … Command- for zoom out, that kinda stuff. You can’t even add that shortcut via Apple’s prefs for crying out load :S
