This is hypothetical question, I don’t have a corrupt file. I am considering doing a 70 pages site with Freeway. I am a little apprehensive about the main Freeway file being corrupt and making the whole site unopenable.
Is there a way replace the .freeway file if something should happen to it. Thanks.
There’s no practical way to reverse into a new Freeway document from a site folder or similar HTML output. So if you are concerned about losing your document, I recommend multiple automated backups. Be sure to save every once in a while, too, so there’s something new to back up. Time Machine is a good first line defense, you should also be making manual backups before you branch into a new major feature, just so you can get around the lack of multiple undo.
Freeway will automatically create a backup file each time you open a previously-saved document. However, this backup only updates its contents if you close the document and re-open it, and that fact leads to a lot of confusion. To open such a file (with the extension .fwbackup, found in the same folder as your .freeway document file) hold down the Option key and choose File / Open in Freeway. This enables Freeway to open the .fwbackup format, which is normally locked out to keep you from opening it by mistake.
