Everytime I make a change in mij website in freeway pro and I publish it the resource directory gets a new file of the changed file with a name getting an extra letter befind the filename (like a, b, c, …). Why does freeway not just overwrite the changed file upon publishing ??? The resource directory becomes bigger and bigger by creating evertime a new file. Is there a way to just overwrite a changed file during publishing. How can I clean up the resource directory ??? Delete all previous files of a particular file except the last saved one ???

You dont say what version of FW you are using but there have been some issues addressed in this regard.
Some actions also have peculiarities and you should make sure that you are running the latest versions for your copy of FW.
To make sure that FW clears out these a, b, c files you should do a File>Publish Everything. This is accessed by holding down the Ctrl key while selecting from the File Menu.
Alternatively you could create a new site Folder in the Finder and use File>Document Setup to choose that new folder as your publish destination but the method above usually does the trick.
