Carla,

Can you test this with some different videos and different providers see if the problem still exists? I know that sometimes a video may have specific settings that disables the full-screen mode for embeds.

Hey buddy Caleb!!
happy new year yep its on all my videos
here is a link… Its also on the vimeo video as well as all the youtube…
The reason this is odd, is that the full screen was allowed in the previous action…
thx for a look

Carla

Could you try downloading and installing one of the older versions of the action? That will allow us to see if it’s the action, or the video providers.

Yep, it will overwrite it. That should be fine, you can easily reinstall the newer version and it will replace the old one.

Be sure that you don’t have any documents open in Freeway while you make the switch. Freeway’s very helpful Actions cache will hold onto both versions, even if they have the same name, and you’ll end up very confused.

thx Walter… I actually removed the newer version from my library so as not to confuse… there was no change, it doe not allow full screen… Maybe I need to go back to a much earlier version… but Ill wait to see who chimes in… if it is actually you tube and Vimeo user changes for allowing full screen but I thought I would have heard about this before now… thx

Okay, I think I figured this out. It seems to be caused by the video embed iframe using http:// instead of https://. When I manually change the action’s output code to https://, the full screen button suddenly starts working again.

I would have thought that this would throw mixed content warnings, but it doesn’t seem to be doing that. Walt, are there any reasons why one shouldn’t embed an HTTPS iframe in an HTTP website?

Hi Caleb…
hmm, do you mean the action itself is using the http://…?

the url I use for all YT and vimeo is https://
ok I will wait on you all… thx for the help guys…

Okay, I did some more poking around. The https trick only works for YouTube. However, I’ve found a solution that fixes the problem for all three video providers that the action supports, without changing the protocol. It’s quite simple, the HTML attributes webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen must be present in the <iframe> tag for the full screen mode to work.

I’ll ping Tim and see if he can add this to his action.
