[Pro] Rollover HTML Text

I know his topic has been posted before, but I can’t seem to get my HTML text (links) to change color. I’ve tried changing the hove color through the inspector palette for both the page, and the individual html box, but no luck. I have no problem getting them to underline when I hover over the link, but just can’t get the actual text color to change.

After searching other discussions, I tried removing all of my text styles from the html box, and then again in the inspector, changing my hover color, it worked! But there’s a problem, when I remove the text style from the html box, it defaults to the page style. Although I can change certain things in the page style to my preferences, links keep showing up blue. When I try to change the color of these links manually, it adds a text style to the html box, and again, I cant get the hover feature to work.

Is there a reason I can’t get the hover feature to work when I have specified text styles in an html box?

  1. Create a style for the general text, I guess you have done this anyway.

  2. Select the text that you want to have in that style.

  3. Select the text or word you want to use as a link and make the hyper link.

  4. Select the page, and then select the various link style colours.

Now the text that you selected will be the same font and size as the general style but * all * the links will use colour/underline style as you have selected there… unless you are using the Multiple links Style Action.

I have found Freeway can screww up at times with link styles and make them another colour and even give then a double underline, this doesn’t seem to happen often but when it does I find I need to remove the hyper link URL and then add it again, then the style shows as it should.

As a followup on this…

If you create a style for each link state and then select the styles
in the links option in the inspector window then those styles will be
reflected for each state, so no matter what size and font the *
selected styles * will be that which is used for the linked text on
that page.

thanks for the help mike…i got the hoover text to work. but now i’m having a new problem.

so everything looks normal, my text link is set to be white normally, and when you hoover over it, the color changes to green. when i preview within freeway, everything is perfect. but when i preview it in my browser, the normal text is purple for some reason, and I can’t figure out why? is this just a glitch in the preview? the website is ready to be published, so i’m not sure if this will carry over considering it’s perfectly fine in the internal preview.

Could you supply a link so I see what you mean by normal text?

Thanks

by “normal text” i mean what the linked text looks like when left alone, without rolling over it. the site isn’t published, so I cant really send a link, but i took screen shots of one of the pages in various modes. hopefully this works.
