I want to make a page with many graphics in a table. They would be small and the same size but on rollover would display very large version of the graphic. What is the best way to do this?
Thanks David. I think this may be what you mean in detail. From ColinJA.
"1 - For your large images, import the first one into a graphic box and give it the Action Target Show/Hide Layer and set the parameters to Initially: Hidden, Restore: Sticky, Effect: Fade. I use a Duration of 0.8, but you can experiment to find what you prefer. Leave the Target Group at Indigo and set the Target #: 1.
2 - Duplicate this image in the same position, double click on it to bring up the Graphic dialog and locate the next image (re-scaling if necessary). change the Target # to 2. Repeat for each new image, incrementing the Target # each time, to build a stack of main images.
3 - For the thumbnail images, import into graphic boxes and give each the Rollover Action setting the parameters for Mouseover: Item and Target # to match the main image Target#.
4 - For a short cut, duplicate the first thumbnail the number of times you need - spaced at regular intervals - and then double click on each to locate a new image and change the Target#.
(You can also make thumbnails individually by copying and resizing/ resampling the main image before you apply the Action).
Once you are happy with your page you can always duplicate it and just change the pictures for another gallery. Use the Site Panel to select each layer and go to the Item Menu - Modify - Locate, to change the main images. Just double click on the thumbnails to do the same.
You can also use a double image and/or Click on the thumbnail, so that it changes colour or fades when selected."
Is it only this or a Lightbox type of CSS program?
G5, Showcase doesn’t work. I’m ready to upgrade if Apple would get there butts in gear. That’s another problem.
I have been creating a gallery using instructions above. It was working well and now I’ve hit a snag with the duplicate item. I’m not getting the same graphic dialog box after double clicking on the duplicate large pic. I get a box that has only “sizing behavior” and vert./horiz. offsets instead of the choice to locate new image.?
This method is tedious but does produce the effect within Freeway.
This is the closest I’ve found, though I have more control over spacing of thumbnails and background color just using Freeway.
Ok, here’s a slight problem related to this. I’m building the page using the Target Show/Hide Layer action. Often freeway will lose one of the large pics in the stack. How can I review the pictures in the stack in order to replace one?
Thanks, Glenn

If you have a stack of anything in Freeway, you can move from one element to another in the stack by holding down the Option and Command keys and clicking on the top of the stack. Each click moves your selection one layer down, until you reach the bottom (the page itself), and then it cycles around to the top again. At any point, when your desired selection is named in the Inspector, pressing the Return key will cause it to appear to be at the top of the stack, selected and ready for editing. The actual layer order is preserved, this is just an illusion that Freeway presents to you to make it easier to work on the stack.
I just tried this on my main Mac, and it didn’t work, but I suspect there may be something else conflicting, as I haven’t heard of any bugs in this area, or any removal of this feature. Give it a try, and please let me know if it works for you.

I also did the same and it didn’t work - that is why I hadn’t chimed in with the same solution.
I just tried it on my laptop (same Mac OS version as my desktop) and it did work. I’ll have to look closely at the Freeway version(s) on those two machines, to see if there has been a regression.

Both my Mac Pro and my MacBook Pro have the same OS (10.7.4), same build of Freeway (6412), same settings in the Keyboard Shortcuts. If there’s a difference here, I don’t see it. Yet the Command-Option-Click behavior is broken on the Mac Pro. I’ve restarted Freeway multiple times with no change. I haven’t restarted the Mac lately, so I may try that later.

Tried the CMD + Opt to cycle thru a stack of images and it works, but selecting a layer with the Return key does not …I have OSX 10.8.1 and Pro 5.6.4 (6412) running on a MacBook Pro
What build number do you see in the Freeway Get Info box? And do the same for Mac OS X – Apple menu, About this Mac, click on the version number and it should cycle over to the build number.
