[Pro] Safari force refreshes iframe content

Forgive me if I cannot explain this technically well.

I have a page with an iframe. The iframe contains interactive content where user inputs data. On the same page that contains the iframe there are links to various other pages of the website. If a user clicks one of those links the page properly opens in the same window (this is the desired action). If user then clicks the browser back button to return to the iframe page, Safari AND ONLY Safari refreshes the iframe, therefore clearing out the interactive content input by the user. What I need, however, is for the iframe content to remain intact if user browses to other pages and returns back to the iframe page.

This does not happen in Firefox Mac or PC or IE. My research seems to indicate this has something to do with Safari caches and refreshing and there is no way to change this.

Anyone have an idea here? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a work around for this Safari behavior? Is this the wave of the future and all browsers eventually doing this?
