I have a transition of 6 images that are set to fill a browser window proportionally. This all works fine, however, when the user expands their browser window greater than the initial image size the images degrade in quality - as you would expect. Is there any way to import images in Freeway at say 150ppi to allow for this increase and retain the quality of the images?
I don’ think so Scott, 72 dpi is the optimum I believe although I may be opening up myself to correction! The true quality will depend on the quality the images were initially conceived at or obtained from. Say an A4 image at 300 dpi RGB about 28MB, then save for web @ 72dpi, should be crystal clear.
Just beware of image sizes as may influience your page opening speed if very graphically rich!!!
Nice simple design Scott, clever use of transitions!
I would recommend using the dark tint on your portfolio pages (like on your initial home page ‘Blind down’) behind your scrolling text, just an idea to make it more legible?
An answer to my problem may be found in SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) which sounds useful. Ultimately, I need Bitmap images to behave the same way as vectors. I’m sure I read a few years back that Microsoft had come up with a scalable image that calls upon graphic detail based on the physical browser/image size.
Perhaps if there was some way of calling upon either a small jpg or a large jpg depending on the current browser size?
I tried to give you some advice the other week, I hope you got it all sorted in the end?!!!
I was wondering if I could pick your brain about your site http://www.roarimage.com/uploads/alumina/fieldside.html as I had to track back through the forum to find my post to you, and hopefully you can return the favour?
Do you have a private email please that I can contact you on? I never can understand how to mail people on here privately if they haven’t detailed their contact credentials??
