[Pro] Send Form Issue

The contact form (see link below) is failing. It immediately forwards to the “error” page when submitting.

I have used the “send form” action without problems before.

Tried applying the “send form” action to the item and also the page with the same results. Have tried various combinations of settings within the action settings/pane.

I’ve also searched forums, knowledge bases etc with no conclusive results. Could it be to do with the “GoogleMaps” action on the same page and, if so, what can be done to resolve the conflict?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

(The server has PHP for Apache 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.1)

I can’t say what’s wrong with your form, someone else will need to step-in, but PHP 5.3.2 is outdated. Even v5.4 is getting long-in-the-tooth. 5.6 is a safer bet, or 7 if that’s an option.

Thanks Todd. Will look into this with my host.

Watched the Karen McGrane video via your site. Very informative. Thanks for that too!

“Send Form” still not working. After trying all sorts at the Freeway end of things I’m turning my attention to the server.

Can anyone tell me what code the “Send Form” action generates so that I can clearly describe this to my web hosting provider?

Have you tried the PHP Feedback Form instead - do it on an otherwise blank page and set each error to its own page ie server error, not in domain, email error etc.

If PHPFF works then SendForm should too and if it doesn’t then report back which error page you end up on.

If you dont get an error page then try using a recipient email address for the server you are testing on.

As far as what sort of code the SendForm action uses - it generates a php script which you will find called FW_SendForm_contact_twoLeft.php in the same way that the PHPFF action works

Hi David,

Thank you for the suggested trouble-shooting workflow.

I’m just about to download “PHP Feedback Form” from ActionsForge. The download page says it is compatible with “…Pro 3.5, Pro 4, Pro 5, Pro 5.5, Pro 6”. My version of Freeway is Pro 7.1.2. Is that likely to be problem?

Franz.

Hi David,

I did the test using PHPFF as you suggested and it redirects to the “Server Error” page.

and it redirects to the “Server Error” page.

You have your answer then - Submit a ticket to your hosting provider.

Who is it so we know to avoid them.

Yeah, Karen makes some compelling points which, even 3 or 4 years later, are still relevant.

Glad you liked it.
