I’ve noticed that a few of the website I designed are not ranking very well in Google. Quite frankly, I don’t know very much about SEO, but I suspect that’s the reason why.
I just discovered an application called Sitemap Automator, which supposedly creates XML Sitemaps designed to improve your website’s rankings on major search engines.
Has anyone used this application, and if so, does it really work? If not, what app would you recommend? Thanks in advance for your help.
Freeway 5.5 has a built-in Site Mapper action that will make the site map, upload it, and submit it to the search engines automatically. There are some instructions on how to use it in the knowledge base:
If you’re using an older version of Freeway, there are also instructions in there for how to make the sitemap manually using a free website. You’d have to submit it to the search engines manually also, but it doesn’t take very long.

There is also the MetaPlus action on the actions forge website than can be applied to any page - you can then enter in all the meta information and robots requirements and much more… all from with the actions pallet. Very useful.
