[Pro] sFX Accordion problems

Hi,
Sorry about this but I meant to post this here and not in the “[Pro] SuiteFX Module Confusion” thread, so if someone could remove it from that thread I’d be grateful. Here is the post again:

I am having a problem with the sFX Accordion in Windows browsers and wondered if anyone has a solution. The accordion displays as expected in Mac browsers but for some reason it doesn’t in Firefox or IE 7 on Windows machines. Here is a screen grab to illustrate what happens:

Here is the normal site: www.dbtreecare.co.uk

I would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks,

Richard

Very nice it is too :slight_smile:

I can’t solve your problem, but I can tell you that you’ve mis-spelled ‘Dismantle’ in your main menu!

I don’t see the effect working at all in Safari 5 Mac, let alone
Windows anything. Where should I click, and what should happen when I
do?

Hi there

I have used Weaver’s excellent sFx Accordion action at http://dundeemuseumoftransport.co.uk/contact/ to explain what the captcha code is for (click on where it says “click here to find out what this code is for” in the form table).

I have tested in in Windows IE7 and Firefox 3.6.3 under WindowsXP and it seems to work fine.

Try applying the Protaculous action to your page and then selecting Scriptaculous packed from the library selection. This seems to help make the Accordion action work more reliably.

It’s a great shame Weaver had to suspend work on what looked like being a great collection of actions (and would have replaced MooTools). Hopefully he and Softpress may be able to work together to make this happen at some stage soon.

By the way I’d love to know how you managed to get the centre dark bar to go full width on your site as it’s not set as a page background.

All the best

Gordon

Thanks Paul but Dave had already spotted the mistake, but I have since removed that menu option altogether.

@waltd

Walter as I mentioned in the other thread I have for now completely removed the accordion effect so you must have viewed the page post accordion effect.

@Gordon Low

Thanks Gordon I hadn’t actually applied the page action I’ll give it another try. I am using the Fading Slideshow action on the page though - does this play nicely with Protaculous/Scriptaculous ?

Thanks all for your replies guys.

Paul I’m not sure what you mean. I was referring to DeltaDaves post in this thread:

Just me trying to be waggish, and failing miserably :slight_smile:

You said words to the effect of: ‘@paulbradforth: thanks but Dave has already answered’, and I was impishly pointing out that I replied somewhat before Dave did …

Hi Paul,
It’s not you failing miserably it’s me being just too tired and one track minded at the moment trying to resolve these very frustrating accordion problems. I tried Gordon’s suggestion of using the “Protaculous” action on the page and then selecting “Scriptaculous Packed” from the library selection but this didn’t make any difference I still get the exact same problem.

I’ve tried going back to MooTools Accordion and it worked perfectly apart from when I applied an hypertext link to the header text - it then lost all link styles and no matter what I do I can not get link styles once an hypertext link is applied.

best wishes,

Richard
