[Pro] Shifting Pages

Hi folks,
I am wondering why sometimes pages seem to shift in positioning in the browser. For example a menu bar with 6 links to 6 pages. Click on a page and it appears slightly to the left in pixels on the screen yet its settings have the same master. Hmmm? Its mildly irksome and not a big deal really, but if there is a way to fix it that would be good. I have noticed this go away on some pages for no particular reason that I can see and also when I make new pages sometimes it shows up. Is this just a normal quirk?

Mostly it happens when a page has more content than will fit onscreen
and a scroll bar appear on the right; the site shifts across to make
room for it.

If a page is set centered and its contents are tall enough to require
a scrollbar then it will shift alignment half the scrollbar’s width
to the left, relative to pages that don’t produce a scrollbar. The
scrollbar steals some space from the browser window and the page then
centers itself within the slightly narrower area.

This is normal behaviour across all web browsers. The only ‘fix’ is
to make all pages have enough content - one way or another - to
produce a scrollbar. Then they’ll all be the same in terms of
horizontal positioning within the browser window.

But it may not actually be worth the bother if this means forcing
short pages to have a scrollbar (say, by placing a small transparent
graphic box low down) even though there’s no apparent reason for the
scrolling.
