[Pro] Site Search function

Hi all. I’ve just been contacted by someone asking me to construct a site to incorporate a search function. Is this an easy thing to do within Freeway or do I need something else for this to work?

Thanks

Trev,

as long all your content is within your Freeway doc, this is fully actionized by simple-site search.

But if you’ve got a mixture of FW generic files and probably other content coming from a CMS you’d step to an entire external solution.

Cheers

Thanks Thomas, it will be content managed, probably with WebYep, so no doubt more questions to follow!

Take a serious look at http://www.sphider.eu for a neat solution to mixed-content sites. Because it runs as a separate service on your server, it can periodically follow all the links in your site to index all the pages. Search requests will match pages that are real and pages that are virtual, and the results will include the virtual content. That’s because Sphider is acting like a browser, and reading and indexing each compiled page after requesting it from your server.
