Hi,
I have followed the instructions for setting up a sitemap xml using the Site Mapper actions but I keep getting a JavaScript error box popup when i click the “Submit Site” in the Site Mapper action. The message in the box reads:
Action -43
“File some object wasn’t found”
Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong or maybe missing out?
Hi Richard. Apologies for the delay in responding (I found your query when searching for solutions to the same problem that was being experienced by another customer).
It always helps if you can tell us which version of Freeway you’re running, as I suspect this may be a FW5.5 issue (though we can’t repeat this behavior at the Softpress office).
Ultimately, all that happens when you submit your sitemap is that Google and Bing are “pinged” to tell them that a sitemap has been submitted. If you have successfully submitted the sitemap in the past, this will not make any difference as the frequency for checking was sent with the original (successful) submission.
Also, Google and Bing will always trawl the web to index sites (using the sitemap.xml file which Sitemapper creates and uploads with your files), so the site will be indexed. I can’t say specifically whether pinging them first will make much difference in the time taken to have the site indexed (if there is any difference at all.
