[Pro] some links working, some are not

I’m fairly new to Freeway Pro. I’m updating an old website, and chose Freeway due to past software becoming outdated. I’m finding that my links on some pages are working fine, and not working at all on other pages. This is especially true of the paypal donate button. It was on my master page, and works on some pages, and doesn’t work on others. Links to anchors from a table work on some pages, but not on others. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you be a bit more specific about which work and which don’t ie page/link

examples:

  1. on the home page, the paypal button on right side of page does not work. The links in the boxes below work fine.
  2. Second page, Bonding Cycle. Paypal button works fine, as do links in blue box below.
  3. Page 3, Causes of RAD, paypal button does not work. Same master as in page 2.
  4. Page Treatment>Attachment & Trauma Therapy: paypal button doesn’t work, and rollover link for graphic of Center for Attachment & Trauma Therapy in blue box below no longer works, but link of Lynne Lyon & e-mail me in that box does. The worst part is that the links in the 8 cell table at the top of the page are supposed to link to anchors further down on the page. I have deleted the links and styles several times and reapplied them, no help.

There are more examples, but they are similar. Links that work on one page don’t work on another.

I’m not aware of “tables” and especially about FW 5.6.5 but if I recall this correct, there had always been problems with master/child connections, especially when (just a guess) FW treats “table content” as some kind of “inline construction”.

The first question:

Why building tables? Just cause you are used to (from the former app)? I think it is way easier to work with simple HTML items perhaps. Doing so, I can see increasing chances of better master/child connections - but I may fail.

The problem is, that you can’t re-connect those lost links items successfully back to the master so all I can do is to advice to treat the paypal button as unique item on each child page which will mean some copy and paste work. All other advices I see some danger of unwanted over-writings of current content.

Cheers

Thomas

Actually, it turned out that I needed to resize my CSS menu so that it was the height of the main menus (it expanded in size when I typed in all the menu items. I didn’t realize that you needed to re-size). That covered up all the links below it.

If you set it to flexible height in the Inspector, this will happen automatically.

Is there anyway to set the height as flexible AFTER there is text in an item, or can you only do it when you first create the item?

Click on the element so that its corner handles are showing, then look in the Inspector in the Measurements section. There’s a height picker there, and lots of different options within!
