Mike,

You have duplicate actions in the Actions folder for FW 5, you can
remove the duplicates or just press ‘Ignore’.

Hello,
I have had the same problem with the duplicates but ignored until I wanted to use Moo Actions and they didn’t work. I find that I have actions from FW 5 in the ApplicationSupport/Freeway5/Actions/General
AND in the Application/Freeway/Freeway5.5Pro/|showpakagecontent|/Content/SharedSupport/Actions/Fast etc…

I have a feeling that your going to tell me to leave these alone (5.5Pro), and I assume that Moo’s Folder goes in the App Support in Library as the read me for 5 instructs, BUT is the fact that, for instance, a iPhone Suites is in both places (not two in one or the other) giving me a duplicate warning for it? Is Pro using both these locations?

Hope this make some sense.

Thanks
Frank

FW actually uses 3 locations

These are

1 ~User>Library>Application Support>Freeway 5>Actions

2 HD>Library>Application Support>Freeway 5>Actions

and the

3 HD>Applications>Freeway 5 Pro.app>Contents>SharedSupport>Actions

If when you are logged in as the user you add an Action it goes in location 1 and will only be available to you

If you install an action in location 2 the action will be available to all users

and 3 you know about.

If there is an update to an action it will go in Location 1 and the same named action will remain in Location 3 (hence the error)

When the version of FW is updated then all action updates (for core actions) will be included in Location 3.

You can also go into Edit>Actions from the main menu and turn off various actions.

The only time you will get a duplicate Action warning is if you have
two of the same version in one or more of these places. The third
location you should definitely not adjust yourself!

Any Action that ships within Freeway may be updated by adding a newer
version of itself to either of the Application Support folders. When
Softpress ships a new version of Freeway, anything you have done
inside the application bundle will be blown away. This is how it
should be. If you have done anything to these internal Actions, then
download the latest update from Softpress and install it over your
current copy to get back to a known good state.

The normal behavior when you put a newer version of an existing Action
into either of those library folders is for Freeway to start using it,
quietly, without complaints about duplication. If you have version 1.1
of some Action installed in your Application Support folder, and then
you add version 1.2, depending on how you do that you will either see
a warning from Freeway that you are about to update an Action, or you
will see a warning from Finder that an older version of that file
already exists. Either warning is harmless and indicates that you’re
doing things correctly.

Hi guys,

I am getting this error but I don’t have the first folder?

I go into User and there is no Library folder in there … so how can I remove this duplicate?

I am on Mac OS X 10.7.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Another addition to this, I have removed the tools from:
~/Library/Application Support/Freeway 5

and now the duplicate error doesn’t come up. But now when I try to use the Slideshow action I get this error:

File Not Found

Necessary Support File not found in action bundle.
Expected location: [[ Settings:mootoolsOptions.txt ]]

Action may not function properly

and it won’t work …

Any ideas?

Managed to fix it …

I could unhide the Library folder in User via terminal.

Then removed the Mootools suite from there and re-installed it in the computer Applications Support folder.

All sorted.

Waltd. I have this problem on my Powerbook. I am a little confused after reading the thread. Do I ignore the warnings and carry on or delete the duplicated actions?

You should go through your Edit / Actions dialog and see if you can find the dupes. Delete them and maybe download the latest from the Forge. Make sure you have only one, and the latest, of each.
