[Pro] Strange CSS Layout issue.

I am using the template Ambient. I removed the main graphic and replaced it with 4 smaller graphics. All images are set to use CSS (Green Box) When I load the page it only shows half of the header. If I turn of CSS Layout on the second image only. The site works perfectly.
On the other pages (ie contact) that I have not added content to. I find the pages are all over the place. However if I change the box with the words “Aliquam erat” in it. (Second Heading on the left) to not use CSS and leave all of the other items to use CSS the page works fine.

Example 1 http://cl.ly/image/1i212e2t3C09
Example 2 http://cl.ly/image/0V2o25153C19

Why does one item on each page break the site if I have CSS on? Also If i leave it the way it is will it work ok?
Thanks
Rusty

Ambient uses the RPL action which requires all items to layered CSS items for it to work correctly.

Make sure that none of your layered items overlap at all or you may need to apply the Remove from RPL action to get them to work.

But to truly diagnose any issues we would need to see an example online where we can read the underlying html code. Unfortunately pictures are not good enough.

Thanks Dave, Im not sure what RPL is or how to remove it. Here is a link to get a better look.

I hope the link works, let me know if not.
Again thanks for your help

Im not sure what RPL is or how to remove it.

There is a section in the FW manual about RPL Relative Page Layout action and what it does - if you haven’t read it you really should before trying to use it in anger.

Difficult to tell from your online pages exactly where you are going wrong. If you can do a File>Save Archive and then Zip the resulting folder and make it available via DropBox we can have a look.

It may be something very simple!

OK - several things

1st make sure that you have enabled the Page/Site header at the top of the LH sidebar to show Page - this will then show all items in a list on your page.

Start with your Sidebar Master page. At the top of the page there is an item - fadedDivider1 - it is overlapping the next item down - h1. Select fadedDivider1 and nudge it up a few pixels so that it is clear. You can use the arrow keys for this.

On your Home page the second image in ‘dium’ (iStock000010978734Medium) is not a layered item. Check the layer box in the inspector for it. While you are there select each of the 4 images (shift+clicking each will select them all) and use Item>Align to align their top edges.

On the other pages - as you noted - the h2 items are not layers - enable them.

And your biggest problem on the Contact page is that you have an item - its that dium image again (iStock000010978734Medium) which is not a layered item and is hidden behind all the other stuff.

Click on the iStock000010978734Medium item in the sidebar and make it a layer. You may also have to Item>Bring to Front.

Do all that and see how it works for you.
