[Pro] SuiteFX Module Confusion

It is all back-end stuff. Don’t expect anything for general FW-users anytime soon.

I think the price for this upgrade, based on what’s being received, is minimal. Given the potential for an increase in efficiency (time to develop) I’m happy to pay it. And I just recently upgraded to PRO 5, too, and my upgrade cost from 3.5 was very reasonable. As usual, I’m happy with Softpress.

I’ll need to buy an additional HD, though, to run Leopard for this upgrade - so many people reported problems with Leopard on a G5 (even the late ones like mine) that I have purposely avoided this move until I was forced to. Now’s the time…

Please ignore -for some strange reason, this posted here and I have no idea why - it needed to be under FW 5.5. - apologies all… > On 5 Aug 2010, 7:49 pm, Rick Vieh wrote:

No problem Rick, thanks for the input. You should go ahead and repost on the other thread so others not following this by email can see it too.

Hi,

I am having a problem with the sFX Accordion in Windows browsers and wondered if anyone has a solution. The accordion displays as expected in Mac browsers but for some reason it doesn’t in Firefox or IE 7 on Windows machines. Here is a screen grab to illustrate what happens:

http://www.pixelarte.co.uk/test/index.html

Here is the normal site:
www.dbtreecare.co.uk

I would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks,

Richard

No, he means Weaver’s SuiteFX.

I know he did but I was offering ScriptyAccordion as a solution.

Thanks for spotting the typo Dave. I’ve since removed it though and for the time being dropped the accordion. I did try scripty accordion but it is extremely limited compared to Mootools or sFX Accordion. I just wish Softpress hadn’t mucked about so much with Freeway as Mootools used to work flawlessly before on both Mac and Windows browsers. As for Scripty Accordion I also had problems with styling it kept adding a bold styling even though it was nowhere in the styles I had applied.

If you want to revisit it I am sure, with Walters assistance, we can get it working the way you want it.

If you use any of the H1-6 styles as your headers, then you have to do
the same thing that you always do in Freeway when wanting to style one
of those tags as plain (not bold) text. Create a new style with that
tag and with the extended style: font-weight: normal in it. You always
have to do that in Freeway when you use header styles at all,
otherwise they always come out bold. Apply your new style to the
headers, and they will stop being bold. The Accordion will just work,
because it looks at the tag, not the classname applied to it. (When
you create your new non-bold header style, it will be applied at the
classname level, it won’t replace the Hn tag.)

How do I Delete sFX Accordian? I do not see it in the actions folder in the library?

My copy is in the Actions folder as follows:

(User) Library > Application Support > Actions > suiteFX > Modules > Accordion.fwactionb

All the best

I just have a Freeway5 folder in Application Support that has an Actions folder. There is no SuiteFX in it, but yet it shows up in my Actons folder IN freeway. I used Moo Accordian on my laptop to create a webpage and when I moved it to my desktop, that action was not installed, but sFX was. MooAccording doesn’t seem to install since sFX is there. I have not used it, just need to delete it!

In Freeway itself try going to Edit > Actions…

Scroll down the list and untick the Accordion action.

I seem to recall something similar here myself some time ago - you can use one or the other but not both.

Also check that the action isn’t part of your Freeway file rather than in your action folder. Freeway caches copies of actions so there could be an instance of it on a page somewhere you haven’t deleted and that’s why it’s showing up even though it’s not in the Actions folder.

All the best

Gordon

There are 2 locations that these files can be stored

Either

User>Library>Application Support>Freeway 5

or

Computer>Library>Application Support>Freeway 5

I had one other box in this page with the sFX Action, got it removed finally through the Edit Actions, then reinstalled MooSuite and all is well. Thanks to all that help here, I am so grateful for you!

That is fairly normal as you generally add actions under a specific user - however I like to add my actions in the HD>Library>Application Support> etc. etc. and then they are available to ALL users.

Thats quirky old me!

Just pointing out (and to others that may come later) that there is more than one location for Actions.
