[Pro] System Hangs Up In Shut Down With 5.5.7

When attempting to shut down after using FW 5.5.7 the system hangs up with the eternal spinning wheel. I need to hold down the power up button to get the machine to shut down. Worked fine with 5.5.6. I am on a quad core iMac with a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 and OS X 10.6.7 with 8 GB of memory.

I have a similar setup but I must admit I rarely shut down - my iMac can be running for weeks at a time. I have also avoided the 10.6.7 update because of some potential issues that have been raised.
