I’m using the Target Show/Hide Layer feature to display a U.S. map with pop-up windows, and it works great.
My question is whether there is a bit of markup I can add inline to the pop-ups themselves in order to create a “close window” button?
Right now I have the maps at “Restore:Yes and Find Targets:Top,” and the layers as “Initially:Hidden and Restore:Sticky.”
It works OK – the first window appears and stays up so that a website or email link can be chosen. And then when a second map is clicked the first layer closes as the second opens.
But it would be nice to give the option in each layer to close manually – from the layer itself.
Possible? I’ve seen the markup to close the entire page, but it’s past my pay grade to figure out how to close the layer itself…
I have done something similar with Transition FX. A thumbnail when clicked on opens up a bigger version of the pic with some text in a pop-up box. I have a ‘Close’ button but the whole thing closes when you click anywhere.
The sort of close button is exactly what I’m looking for, but I’m not sure how it might tie into the 15 map areas I have, each of which right now open their own layer. I’ve not used Transition FX yet.
I’m sure there is some snippet of code that I can include in each layer to allow me to close them, but I’m at a loss…
