[Pro] Time-Zone Action

Is anyone aware of an action that generates a menu list of world time-zones - similar to the Country action?

I know I can populate manually, but would love it if there was a comprehensive list already made (or some other efficient way to do this)…

Thanks,

Aaron

Can you explain what you are trying to do with it.

In a feedback form I would like users to tell me what time-zone they are in (global audience) if they choose to request a specific call time (as opposed to “any time”, “AM” or “PM”). I have requested their country already, but would rather not push them for city as well - trying to keep form inputs to a minimum and don’t want to have to look up every city that comes in to determine the zone.

If there isn’t an action or easy way to do this, I will probably just populate the Menu List with UTC, UTC+1, etc… for the sake of simplicity.

However, it seems that the best time-zone lists have those designations as well as the zone codes (CST, CDT, ET, AWST, etc…) that folks are used to using locally. Then, like the Country action, it would be great to be able to have a seperator with the most commonly used designations for our target audience at the top and the rest of the vast list below.

Thoughts?

Here’s a very nice list of all the zones, as well as some explanation. http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/info/timezone.htm

If you cut these down to the list you need, you could use the TextWrangler trick I posted yesterday or the day before to turn it into a picker ready to go in Freeway.

Cool. I will definitely put TextWrangler in my toolbox and play with it.

Much appreciated…
