[Pro] Twitter and Facebook Like actions - seeing double

I keep experiencing extra instances of these actions/buttons appearing nearby where I have only put ONE of each on my master page.

If I go to the individual pages and delete them all and reapply master - it fixes it - temporarily - inevitably, shortly soon after the doubling returns. It happens without failure. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Has anyone heard of this?

Current website (under construction) where this is happening - http://www.jonrstrickergolf.com

Though I have had this also happen on other sites as well.

Just to add - the doubling (once fixed) doesn’t happen unless I’ve made unrelated changes and updated/re-uploaded the site. Even just one minor change can cause it.

Something in the Freeway program (or action) is seemingly not cleanly being reapplied from the Master Page to the individual pages. Thus my having to go into the individual pages and manually deleting the buttons, then Reapply Master on each to resolve it.

With the Action selected on the child pages is the Use Master Content box ticked?

Yes, Use Master Content box ticked

Use Master Settings box not ticked

Can I attach a pic to a post? Heres a link.

I’ve also experienced a few instances of a fatal crash when deleting the buttons on the individual pages and reapplying them. It happened again this morning.

Specifically, all I did was delete the Twitter and Facebook items from the (not Master) Main page, and then used Reapply Master, to put them back on the page. This crash appears - “OK” does not get rid of it - and there is no way to quit the program other than Activity Monitor/Force Quit.

So - are your pages Transitional doc types?

I think you would be worth contacting support(at)softpress.com with your problem.

Yes, HTML Transitional -

Yes, it’s a bit buggy it seems - I’ll send it in to Softpress.

Thanks David!

Karen,
Did you get a fix for the double Twitter image? I have the same problem and would like to know if there is a fix.

Thanks.

Influence is very subtle at times, and also very powerful and overarching. It depends on what you are doing.

Kim - this was extremely frustrating to me and I never did figure out what the problem/cause was. I rebuilt it dozens of times - cleaned them off all pages and verified they were only on the Master page over and over - built them on the pasteboard first - pretty much everything I could think of.

Ultimately it was fixed by relocating these to the footer area (on a Master) - and away from the original position on the header.

I couldn’t tell you why this worked - but it did.

Karen - The only way I found to fix it was to take it off the Master page and place it individually on each page.

Thanks for getting back to me.
