I’ve just launched a revised version of my portfolio that features a selection of my commercial design work http://www.davidhutton.com
Having experimented with various methods of embedding fonts (caxton) and font replacement (cufon) I have found that the major issue is that most fonts do not display particularly well on a Windows PC. In fact they look bloody awful. So I have created all of my main titles and subtitles as images, as I’ve been doing for years.
I’ve recently looked at http://www.typekit.com/ as another avenue to explore as you are able to preview how a particular font will look on different operating systems and in different browsers. I’ve had a go at integrating Typekit with Freeway by publishing my document & then editing the CSS styles produced. Obviously this isn’t the ideal way to go about it so I’m hoping somebody can advise the best approach. Is anybody using Typekit with Freeway?
Any guidance would be most appreciated.
