[Pro] Unreliable uploads

On some days (most), it can take repeated goes at uploading to complete the process for a large site, sometimes taking 45 minutes of repeated 'Command-U’s. The larger the site, the more likely the problem is to appear.

By breaking a large site down into relevant folders or directories, we can mitigate the ‘start completely all over again’ syndrome - Freeway is limited to starting all over again within the last directory in which the upload failed.

We host with Fasthosts and go through the Kingston Communications (East Yorkshire) network. All deny any faults or issues. Anyone else having problems?

PS This is not a new problem - it just appears to have got worse recently.

If you are having issues then save the Log file and send it to support (at) softpress.com and they can dissect it to offer advice.

Log files stored in ~/Library/Logs/Freeway 5/ FTP Logs/

Thanks Dave - I’ll get that underway. I uploaded to my DotMe account yesterday with no problems whatsoever, so I suspect the hosts (Fasthosts).

Might well be. I have had uploading problems on Fasthosts, with the upload stopping short, but found, after toggling ‘Passive’ and Non-Passive, that setting the FTP Mode to ‘Automatic’ seems best.
