[Pro] Updating Google Analytics code

My website (in the footer) has obsolete Google Analytics code. I’m wanting to update it to the current asynchronous version. From Google’s help page, it seems I can do this pretty simply by pasting the Google-provided code into my page(s) immediately before the closing tag.

Two questions:

  1. Should this be done on the Master, or must I paste the code into each of my 300+ pages?

  2. I’m a code novice. Looking at the View Page Source, I can see the old analytics code down near the bottom of my pages. But I have no idea how to actually locate that code in my Freeway and remove it. I can’t find how or where I entered it in either the Master (most likely) or the individual pages. How do I find the old code in order to remove it? I appreciate any advice.

I can’t find how or where I entered it in either the Master (most likely) or the individual pages.

The most common way to enter code like this is using Page>Html Markup

When you open this dialogue box you will see a picker for Before , After , Before , Before etc. etc. - ones that have code inserted in them will be underlined when you click on the picker.

Start on the Master as that is where you should be adding it.

Your new code will go in Before
