I am wanting to build a site with variable width, as in this example: http://ryanfeerer.com
Is this doable in FW6?
So far I get stuck on even the basics, either the space between my columns is static, the page non-centered or there is no maximum width to the page: http://www.urologiborås.se/index2.html
Freeway 6 is very capable of achieving quite complex design layouts. It may need a little coaxing at times but the end results are only limited by the users imagination and determination - which my wife refers to as stubbornness!
With Freeway 6 came the simple use of min and max widths at the click of a button, which put fluid, adaptive and responsive sites within the grasp of more users.
Thomas, who regularly helps users on this forum, has screencasts that would help you get started with this project if you haven’t already seen them.
Cabel, another helpful Freeway user on the forum, has produced a coolresponsive template - Backdraft - you can search the forum for details about it. It may not be exactly what you are looking for on this occasion, but studying how things are implemented will help you to learn more about how to do stuff yourself.
I am just finishing a responsive site myself. It’s for an app my son wrote ( always an opportunity for a bit of promotion ) and I wasn’t going to release details until it was through review, but it’s almost there now and it will hopefully show you what you can do with Freeway. It’s probably not as slick as some responsive examples shared by some of the Freeway Experts here, but It will hopefully convince you what you can do with Freeway.
